My Credentials, Experience & Expertise
I am a certified nutritional practitioner. I graduated with first class honours from the institute of holistic nutrition in 2020. I have been working with moms and families since 2014 as an infant and early childhood sleep educator. Getting to the root cause and a (w)holistic approach have always been my practice of choice.
By educating and empowering you, I help you take charge of your journey to better health. I will help you realize all the amazing things you can invite into your life when you unapologetically prioritize yourself. You will literally GLOW from the inside out and everyone will be noticing.
After having my first child, I dove head first into being a full-time momma. I gave up my career as a makeup artist and thought that to be a GOOD mom I had to focus solely on my child. I was living in a constant state of fight or flight due to disrupted sleep, forgetting to eat, and pouring from an empty cup. When I remembered to eat, it was food that was processed, nutrient void and full of sugar. It left me feeling lethargic, achy all over and very moody. I developed hormonal acne that left me feeling insecure and defeated. My knees ached so much I could barely go up and down the stairs.
When my daughter was six months old, I started to research first foods for her. I wanted to ensure that she was eating the most nutrient dense food. This was the catalyst to my discovery and in turn great interest in therapeutic nutrition and its power to heal the body.
At the same time that I started to incorporate foods that were nutrient dense and healing, my daughter started to sleep through the night. This meant that I was also getting uninterrupted and restorative sleep. I started to notice major shifts in the way I was feeling; my mood, energy and even my skin improved.
My knees stopped aching (something I was told I would have to live with for the rest of my life). I no longer needed a nap everyday around 11:00 a.m. And I had energy to exercise again. A month later I stopped breaking out. Until that point, I really did not know what clear skin was because I struggled with acne since the eighth grade! This was the first time in my life I was comfortable to leave my house makeup free!
This isn’t your typical journey where I healed my symptoms and was better. Every time there was a significant change in my life, the first thing I let go of was MY self-care. It was a cycle where boundaries were blurred, I overworked, under slept and eventually burned out every single time. My symptoms of extreme fatigue, anxiety, acne and digestive upset would reappear. Each time was worse than before.
It wasn’t until I worked with a practitioner in 2015 that I was able to shamelessly and unapologetically put myself first. That experience was life changing and I truly believe that had I not worked with a professional I would not be where I am today. Working with a nutritionist had such a profound impact on me that I decided to make a career change as a mom of three at the age of 35 years old. All disease begins in the gut and there are hundreds and thousands of women that would benefit from empowering themselves with food and self-care practices.
